This disclaimer summarises important safety, medical and participation information for STIX FHA players, parents/guardians and other participants.
1. Physical Activity & Field Hockey Risk
Field hockey and related conditioning activities are physical activities with inherent risks of injury. Training may involve stick work, hitting, flicking, tackling, sprinting, agility, strength and other physical challenges. Participants should follow coaching and safety instructions and use appropriate equipment.
2. Medical Information
STIX FHA relies on the medical information supplied by participants or their parents/guardians. The Academy does not verify that information for completeness or accuracy. Participants and parents/guardians are responsible for disclosing relevant injuries, allergies, medical conditions and medication.
3. Emergency Treatment
Participants authorise the Academy to seek medical treatment in emergencies. The Academy may provide or arrange first aid, contact emergency services, communicate with parents/guardians and refer a participant to a medical professional where appropriate.
The Academy's arrangements are intended for emergency care and do not replace a participant's normal doctor, medical aid or ongoing medical treatment.
4. Undisclosed Conditions
STIX FHA cannot take responsibility for consequences arising from medical conditions, allergies, injuries or medication that were not disclosed, or from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to the Academy, subject always to applicable South African law.
5. No Medical Advice
Information on this website about fitness, training, injury prevention or player development is general Academy information. It is not a substitute for individual medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional.
6. Emergency Contacts
Parents/guardians should ensure that emergency and medical information supplied to STIX FHA is accurate and kept current. For serious emergencies in South Africa, the appropriate emergency services should be contacted, including 112 or 10111 where applicable.
7. Relationship to the Terms
This disclaimer should be read together with the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct. Where a participant has signed a specific Academy application, medical or consent form, that form may contain additional participant-specific requirements.
8. Legal Limits
Nothing on this page is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right, responsibility or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or waived under applicable South African law.
